Leading them into taking of drugs, excess alcohol, India herm. Some have joined the occult, while some have committed suicide.
All in an attempt to “escape” the reality of this life’s predicaments. Because they fail to understand that life’s most destructive and disastrous battles are not physical, but spiritual.
Ephesians 6:17-18 says, And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints.
This is so because every challenge that has its origin in the spirit realm has to be confronted with spiritual tools.
Some of these spiritual tools are Salvation, Righteous living, Spiritual Sword which is the word of God, Prayer, and supplication, etc. The sword of the Spirit is the word of God.
It is an aggressive weapon with which we attack the enemy. Hebrews 4:12 made it clear that the word of God is quick and powerful. And sharper than any two-edged sword.
Piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Remember, it is the word of God that you have in you that will work for you when you exercise it in spiritual warfare.
Therefore, let the word of God dwell in you richly and meditate on it and make it a part of you.
Though most times some people short-change themselves by not paying attention to the word of God, which is the most powerful attacking piece of our armor with which we obtain victory.
That is why Satan usually attacks us because of the weakness of our flesh. Any time we sin, he is always there to condemn and accuse us.
Revelation 12:10. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ:
For the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.” But our perfect domination against the accuser of the brethren begins and ends with the salvation of our souls.
This warfare with the kingdom of darkness which began in the Garden of Eden. Where the devil stole the mandate giving to man to dominate and to rule over the world and all that is in it.
Genesis 1:28. And God blessed them, and God saith to them, ‘Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over every living thing that is upon the face of the earth.’
But when Adam disobeyed God by yielding to the devil’s instruction in Genesis 3. He brought the cause to himself and by extension, to his descendants.
When he chose to believe the devil’s lies instead of God’s righteous instruction and he sinned against God his Maker.
Our hearts really need God’s protection from the attacks of the enemy, our accuser, who roars around seeking whom to devour.
Ephesians 6:14 says, Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place.
It is the breastplate of righteousness that guards the vital parts of our lives against the attacks of the enemy. When we live a righteous life and put on our faith and trust in Christ Jesus our savior.
The helmet of salvation automatically becomes our heritage. And enables us to be victorious over our tormentors. Our Lord Jesus Christ never said we would be free from trials and tribulations.
Rather in John 16:33, He provided us with the amour and support with which we can use to confront and triumph over everything the enemy throws at us.
He encouraged us to take heart! Never to allow the things we see in this life to wey us down. Because our Lord and Saviour had overcome the world.
Righteousness is a gift that puts us in right standing with God and produces a life of uprightness in us.
Romans 5:17, For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
Having received the gift of righteousness, we are empowered to do the work of righteousness. Romans 6:18. Says that we have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.
This indicates that we have been acted upon by a power outside of ourselves to bring about the effects. In other words, it is God alone.
Who supernaturally brought about these effects or actions inside us. And this should be a cause of worship and humble thanksgiving to God our Creator and Redeemer and Friend also.
Standing upon and walking in Christ’s righteousness defeats every rage of the devil against us. Living a truthful, transparent, and honest life that is based on the word of God.
Which, Jesus proclaimed to be the truth in John 17:17. Which says ”Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is the truth.”
Jesus confirms here that everything that God originally made to appear in the Bible is the truth. To sanctify means “to render or set apart as pure.”
And when we obey God’s Word, we are set apart and purified. This means that every law, ordinance, illustration, pattern, and principle is good for us.
Helping us to have a better life now by building godly character in us. And also empower us to overcome the enemies and his cohort.
I pray that you will never be defeated or overwhelmed by the challenges of this life. And may our God in heaven grant to you the grace.
To continually treasure and uphold the salvation of your soul. And help you to live by His word daily in other to overwhelmingly triumph over Satan in all his devices.
