Exodus 32:26 Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORDS side? Let him come unto me. And all the Levites gathered around him.
Being on the wrong side of life is very risky and dangerous. With unbearable consequences that follow it.
That is capable of denying one’s opportunities, blessings, favor, and thinking abilities. Many things go wrong when one is not in the right place.
The worst part of it is that it can cost one eternity. It’s quite unfortunate that even though, many are in the know of the implications of being on the wrong side.
Many today, are still at the wrong side boosting in it. My prayer for anyone reading this message is that you will never be on the wrong side of life in Jesus’ name.
In case for one reason or the other, you found yourself on the wrong side. May the Lord God Almighty move you to the right side of life in Jesus’ name.
In the book of John 21:1-14 Were the disciples’ encounter with the resurrected Jesus at the sea of Tiberias.
The bible recorded that they toiled throughout the night and caught nothing. Peter told his fellow disciples. I am going out to fish, and they said, We’ll go with you.
Because, to them, it seems they have no other option. So they went out and got into the boat. But that night they caught nothing.
They were grieved that when Jesus came to them, they did not recognize Him. And Jesus decided to tease them by asking, “Children, have ye any meat?.
He asked them a question fishermen do not like to be asked. “Have you caught anything?” Reluctantly they have to admit, No.
He then gives them some suggestions. Peter, the leader of the group decided to make a move outside of God’s instruction.
He decided to return to his old way of life. “I am going to fish he said.” And others said if Peter our leader can go fishing, who are we to stay back.
And they went along with him. But after a whole night on the lake, they got nothing, because they were where they were not meant to be.
John 15:5 made it clear, Jesus said if you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing.
Whenever a man leaves his place of duty and went to another place, untold sorrow, hardship, and lack are inevitable.
But the compassionate Jesus, who always attends to our needs. Then issued a directive that they should throw their net on the “right side” of the ship for a catch.
Amazingly, they caught a multitude of fishes. One lesson we all must learn from this story. Is that every child of God must find out which is the right side to be.
In Genesis, we saw how Lot’s generation was destroyed because of his choice when he separated himself from his uncle Abraham.
And Lot lifted up his eyes, and behold all the plain of Jordan. That it was well watered everywhere before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.
Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, which was at the east. And went on his separate way rejoicing.
That he has taken the better and most greenish area for his flocks Genesis 13:10-11. Lot greedily chose the land that seemed good in his eyes for his flock.
Without considering his uncle who gave him the option to choose first. But unfortunately, to him, it was the wrong side that he chose.
Because it was a place that was marked for destruction. After Lot had become “successful in life”, the iniquity of that land brought total destruction upon it.
And Lot took nothing out of the land. As a matter of fact, he lost his wife and his entire generation in the land. As it is written in the book of Genesis 19:24-26.
“Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven.
And he overthrew those cities and all the plain. And all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
His wife also perished in that same land as they were running out of the land she looked back and became a pillar of salt.
Are you still in doubt? Or confuse of the side to be? Have the things of this life dealt with you so badly? That you don’t know the side to be or follow?
Beloved, I want to assure you that the side of the Lord is the right side. Jesus said: “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.”
Is your heart heavy?
Are you tired of where you are now? Come to the Lord’s side today with all your burden and He will carry it for you.
Repent and accept Him as your Lord and personal Saviour. And He will prosper you and give you all-round rest as He has promised.
